How To Care For your garment

Care Instructions

Get the longest life out of your garment

Polyester, Mesh, Eco-Tulle, Chiffon, Lace, and Beaded Garments:

  • It is recommended to wash garments made with polyester as little as possible to reduce the release of microplastics into the environment or use a GuppyFriend washing bag while washing. This also extends the lifespan of the garment.
  • Dryclean Only Recommended

or

  • Hand wash cold, air dry.
  • Iron with heat pad only or steam

Organic Bamboo Cotton Items:

  • Wash Cold, Air Dry
  • Iron medium heat

DESSERTO Cactus Leather Garments:

  • Gently wipe the surface with a soft, white cotton cloth dipped in lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap. Never use harsh chemical solvents like alcohol, acetone, bleach, or vinegar, as they can permanently damage the plant-based material
  • Iron inside out on low heat or steam

To conserve water and reduce the emission of microplastics into the environment, SCATHED does not prewash our fabric prior to crafting our garments.

SCATHED's Commitment To Sustainbility

SCATHED sources fabrics as sustainably and ethically as possible. Some examples of sustainable fabrics and their sources are:

- DESSERTO Cactus Leather: sourced becasue of DESSERTO's commitmernt to sustainable and ethical manufacturing of cactus leather and the minimal amount of water needed to grow the cactus used to make the leather.

- Brito Fabrcis: Brito is certified for their organic cotton and organic bamboo cotton. SCATHED chose to work with Brito because of thier ethical manufacturing and sustainable practices including a solar powered factory and the recycling for rain water in their manufacturing process. SCATHED sources organic bamboo cotton fabric and lining from BRITO because, in comparison to cotton, bamboo requires less water to grow.

- Bridal Fabrics: SCATHED sources Eco-Tulle made of 100% recycled plastic from Bridal Fabrics for all mesh and tulle garments.
